Ryan lives and breathes music and loves to teach in a way that emphasizes learning by ear and playing with others often within a musical community. He tailors lessons to the individual student, working on the styles and songs that they enjoy while sprinkling in music theory knowledge and encouragement as needed. He is also well-equipped to help the academic musician master their ensemble's performance pieces while learning to sight-read and understand music theory at the advanced level.

Dr. Kit (he/they) has 25+ years of cello playing experience, and has been teaching music one way or another for 20 years. Recently he has been working around the Salem-Keizer School District and assisting with sectionals for the Amadeus and Philharmonia Youth Orchestras. While specializing in cello, he can also teach piano, any bowed strings, composition, or music theory. He got his PhD in Music Theory from UO in 2016, and a Master's Degree in Composition in 2012. He's now working on a Master's in Teaching through WOU.

Mark Babson grew up in Salem, and began playing violin at age 9 in the public schools. He spent 4 years playing in professional orchestras (and in a mariachi) in central Mexico, and attended a conservatory in the Netherlands. He played in the Salem Chamber Orchestra, the Linfield Orchestra; he regularly plays chamber music. Mark likes to improvise; he is familiar with folk music styles, including klezmer, contradance, old-time, and others.

Gaby is a high brass specialist who is completing her last year at Western Oregon University with a Bachelor of Music with a focus in Music Education and French Horn Performance. With over a decade in experience, Gaby excels in many many genres like classical, and loves performing new compositions. She plays locally with many groups like the Salem Pops Orchestra, Salvation Army Brass Sextet, Hornucopia Horn Quartet, and has subbed in with the Salem Orchestra and 234th Army National Guard Band. Aside from performing, what truly fills Gaby’s cup is helping students find their inner confidence and growth through music.
